Thank you for your interest in learning more about the La Porte County Family YMCA! At the Y, we focus on three priorities: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We provide services at 11 different sites throughout our community including our La Porte, Long Beach and Michigan City Elston branches, our Childcare and Learning Center, our Andrew Avenue Outdoor Center and 6 area schools. Our Y impacts the lives of thousands of children and adults each year.
The Y operates with the philosophy of charging fees to those who have the ability to pay, and helping those who don’t. We are currently conducting our 2017 Annual Campaign to ensure that Y programs like swim lessons, youth and adult sports, summer camp, preschool and childcare remain accessible to everyone in our community. We have set this year’s goal at $100,000, which in conjunction with our other fundraising efforts would allow us to provide around $200,000 in direct financial aid.
As a non-profit, we count on the generosity of our members and supporters to help us continue to build a better La Porte County. We are currently at more than 90% of our Annual Campaign goal for 2017. If you have any questions about how our scholarship program works or the programs for which scholarships are available, please contact Michelle Shirk, Y Development Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (219) 325-9622.
